Meet The Captain — Jonathan Ahlschwede
I’ve spent my life on the water, sailing everything from small lake boats and white water rafts to classic coastal cruisers and fishing trollers. SV Just Today is the heart of my work here in Vieques — a way to share the beauty, calm, and freedom that sailing brings.
I hold a U.S. Coast Guard OUPV license and operate with a simple philosophy:
keep it safe, keep it relaxed, keep it meaningful.
Whether we're gliding across the Bahia de la Chiva, easing into a sunset off Esperanza, or settling in to watch eagle rays drift beneath the keel, my goal is always the same — to create space for people to slow down, breathe, and feel connected to the island in a deeper way.

Meet The Sailboat - SV Just Today
Just Today is a 1984 Endeavour 33 — an innovative, solid, beautifully balanced cruising sailboat known for stability, comfort, and seaworthiness. She handles the waters around Vieques with ease, offering a smooth ride and plenty of space to relax.
Her cockpit is shaded and comfortable, the decks are clean and safe for moving around, and the layout makes her perfect for both intimate private charters and community-style sailing experiences.
She’s a boat with character — the kind that feels like home the moment you step aboard.
She has undergone an extensive refit of all major systems from stem to stern, including the transition from diesel power to fully electric.
